Milwaukee 360° Sep 20 - Sep 22, 2012
Show Preview
Raw space, shadows and the city skyline become a stage for site-specific dances and striking images in Milwaukee 360°, Wild Space Dance Company’s newest site-specific performance this September at The Brewery. Inspired by the history and redevelopment of the former Pabst Brewing Company, Wild Space will transform the site’s massive parking structure into settings for expressive dance. The performance will unfold on three levels of the structure, culminating in a film noir finale against a panoramic view of Milwaukee at night.
A series of dance vignettes in vacant areas of the brewery campus opens the performance, offering audiences a sense of the past and the promising future of this once-forgotten architectural treasure. Dancers will lead audiences into the parking structure for performances in the raw, open space in the first floor of the structure, culminating in a finale at the top floor. Against the panoramic view of Milwaukee 360°, dancers and audiences will become part of a finale that captures the cinematic qualities of the city at night.

Milwaukee 360° performances are at 8 p.m., September 20-22, 2012 at The Brewery Parking Structure, 910 W. Juneau Avenue, with a pre-show talk by Jim Haertel of Best Place at 7:15 p.m. Admission prices are $25 for premium tickets, which include the pre-show talk, $20 for regular admission, $15 for students and seniors.
“We are very grateful to the Zilber Property Group for allowing us to create an exciting new performance at the Brewery,” says Wild Space Artistic Director Debra Loewen. “We are collaborating again with our favorite partner, Milwaukee, offering a stunning view of the city and glimpse of its brewing past.”
