Notable Women Initiative
Established in 2011, UPAF Notable Women addresses the serious decline of arts programming in the public schools. Members are committed to ensuring that all of our region's children have access to arts education.
It is well documented that arts education has a measurable impact on children – particularly at-risk students – by improving academic performance, innovative and critical thinking skills, discipline and focus.
The goal of this distinct initiative is to allow our next generation to explore its full potential. The founders of UPAF Notable Women engage members to ensure high-quality arts education programs continue to be available through UPAF Member Groups.

The Impact of Your Gift
UPAF Notable Women donor dollars are directed to address the critical need for arts education in our community. As a UPAF Notable Woman, your gift to the program will be added to 5% of the total UPAF Campaign funds that are allocated to arts education. These funds are awarded through a separate annual grants program exclusively for UPAF Member Groups. Member Groups are held accountable to deliver on proposed outcomes and demonstrate results that are directly related to UPAF funding.
Joining UPAF Notable Women requires a minimum donation of $1,000 new or increased gift to UPAF. Men may also support the initiative by making a donation on behalf of a notable woman in their lives.
UPAF Notable Women Membership benefits include:
- Invitation to an annual reception to meet other UPAF Notable Women and hear from students participating in arts education programs
- Opportunity to visit a UPAF Member Group with your children or grandchildren to see your dollars and efforts in action
- Special recognition in the UPAF Annual Report
