Providing professional contemporary dance performance, dance training in an array of disciplines for children and adults, and an inter-arts approach to arts learning, Danceworks is the home of Danceworks Performance Company, Danceworks Studio Theatre, and Dreamtime Arts Studio. Danceworks is committed to improving access to the arts by taking art out of the studio and theatre and into the community, particularly to underserved populations.
Danceworks Performance Company (DPC) emerged in 1997 as a company of contemporary dancer-choreographers. Under the Artistic Direction of Dani Kuepper, DPC presents original works created by several choreographic voices under one vision: to test the physical and creative boundaries of contemporary dance by taking familiar themes to new extremes. Critically acclaimed for their technical strength and creativity, “Milwaukee’s most wildly imaginative dance company” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) continues to innovate by presenting three to four concerts of new work each season, and by taking their dancing and dance-making to diverse communities throughout the state.
