Passions Ignite as Bizet's final work opens the 2012-2013 Season for the Florentine Opera audience. Fall under the seductive spell of Carmen and her fiery affairs with Don José and the handsome toreador, Escamillo. This season opens with a scorching production of Bizet's final work, as one of opera's most beloved classics returns to the Florentine Opera stage with a stunningly superb, critically aclaimed cast. Sensational and sensual in the Florentine’s Rigoletto (2010), Audrey Babcock returns to Milwaukee as the rebellious Carmen, sharing her unmatched chemistry with rising international star Noah Stewart in his Florentine debut as Don José. Rena Harms returns as Michaela, on the heels of her show stopping performance as Liù in Turandot. Keith Phares of the Florentine’s two-time Grammy Award-winning Elmer Gantry (2010) returns as the macho bullfighter, Escamillo. Stage Director Dean Anthony (Tosca, 2009) and Maestro Joseph Rescigno will lead this dynamic cast to a powerful performance.
