Theme Luncheon - Kick off the campaign with some arts-themed offerings in the company cafeteria - Tenor-ized Steak Au Pavarotti, TuTu Potatoes (twice-baked potatoes) and Lettuce Entertain You (salad).
Fitness theme - "Shaping up with UPAF" - give blue ribbons to donors; "Walk-a-thon" or "Go the Distance for UPAF" - walk around the building or set course, and collect pledges from employees. Proceeds go to UPAF.
Valentine's Day - Use slogan "A Gift from the Heart" or "Give a Heart for the Arts;" give away candy grams or flowers for pledges at certain levels; offer free candy to employees who complete their pledge cards on Valentine's Day, etc.
St. Patrick's Day - Many companies have used this theme for their March UPAF campaigns (i.e. "Bring in the Green for UPAF"). Some dress in green, bring in Irish entertainers, organize a St. Patty's Day lunch for employees who complete their pledge cards, etc.
Other popular themes - "Have your cake and eat it too" (served cake); President's Day (an employee dressed as Martha Washington to hand out pledge cards); Give your heart to the arts" (pink mouse passed out valentines and candy and another employee dressed as Cupid);
Mardi Gras (hold pot luck luncheon and play Cajun music); "Life's a Picnic" (hand out pledge information in paper baskets).
