The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) takes every precaution to protect your information. (approved 11/17/2005)
UPAF receives personal and financial information from its donors and friends through a variety of direct communications between UPAF and the individual. This communication may be through written, phone, telefund or website communication. Your privacy is important to the United Performing Arts Fund and our Board of Directors has adopted this Privacy Policy for your protection and information.
The UPAF website was developed to provide information to you about our organization and the beneficiary performing arts groups that annually receive UPAF operating support. You may use the site to make a pledge or a direct donation with a credit card to our annual campaign. If you visit UPAF’s Miller Lite Ride for the Arts website, then you may register for the Ride (this requires a credit card payment).
How We Use Your Information
Personal and Financial Information: If you make a pledge or donation to UPAF, we request personal information (such as name, address, phone and email) and financial information if you are making a payment (such as a credit card number or donation amount). This information is for UPAF purposes only to create a donor record within our donor database and/or to fulfill your inquiry, request or order. UPAF will never sell personal or financial information it has received from the donor. UPAF will never trade personal or financial information with any partisan group, political party, or party committee, even if it is a non-profit. However, as UPAF raises operating support for 17 member groups and approximately 20 affiliate organizations, UPAF reserves the right to share personal information with its beneficiary groups and local, reputable cultural partners for marketing purposes. UPAF will never sell, share or exchange financial information in any form.
In addition, we may share aggregate demographic information with our sponsors. This aggregated information does not include any personal or financial information which can identify you as an individual.
“Opt-out” Procedure
UPAF offers a choice of opportunities to restrict or remove your personal information.
To restrict the use of your personal information to only UPAF purposes and ensure that you continue to receive UPAF communications, then please indicate “I wish to receive UPAF communications only” and email us at upaf@upaf.org or send a message by U.S. mail to the following address: UPAF, 929 N Water St, Milwaukee WI 53202 or, call us at 1-414-273-8723. By doing this, your personal information will be maintained in the UPAF donor database and will not be sold, shared or exchanged in any form.
To remove your personal information from the UPAF donor database and no longer receive any future communications, then please indicate “I wish to be removed from UPAF donor database” and email us at upaf@upaf.org or send a message by U.S. mail to the following address: UPAF, 929 N Water St, Milwaukee WI 53202 or, call us at 1-414-273-8723.
If you have elected to receive email communications from UPAF, each UPAF email provides the recipient with the opportunity to “opt-out” of any future UPAF email communications.
Finally, UPAF recognizes all donors of $500 or above in annual publications. Donors will be given the option to list their name anonymously if they so choose.
Note Regarding Children:
Upaf.org does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Children who wish to register to ride in the Miller Lite Ride for the Arts must have a parent fill out the registration form, including the credit card authorization information.
Links
This site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that UPAF is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites; we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you access through a link on our site.
Security
UPAF has defined appropriate procedures to secure your personal and financial information, including your name, address(es), email address, payment records and credit accounts both on-line and off-line.
On-line: UPAF uses an encryption technology to protect sensitive information such as credit card numbers. We use a credit card processing company to bill users for donations and Ride registrations. This processing company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. If you decide to make a credit card payment to us, then you will actually be using this processing company's website and should review their privacy policy.
Off-line: Once the transaction(s) has been processed, UPAF does not store any credit card information on your record within our donor database. UPAF will store your personal information unless you have asked us not to as outlined in our “opt-out” policy. Our database is password-protected and only available via workstations in our offices; only employees of UPAF are permitted to access the database. Employees are frequently reminded of the confidentiality of the information they handle and what they must do to maintain that confidentiality.
Paper copies of transaction data are stored in a secure location in our offices because we maintain them for audit purposes.
Agreement to Terms
By use of this website, you hereby agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. UPAF reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes to the Privacy Policy will be posted on the website and shall be effective immediately upon posting. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use this website or submit any personal or financial information.
